Story

The Kovari Phoenix

For hundreds of years the Kovari lived peacefully.  They worked together and built dynasties all over the world.  They studied the arts, the elements, the lands, and the skies.  One part of the sky that was of particular interest was the Kovari Phoenix.  This phoenix was believed to have always existed, and every hundred years would fall, then rise again from it’s own ashes.  The Kovari believed the phoenix watched over them, and the world, and ensured everyone and everything lived in peace and harmony.  Over time, the Kovari people all over the world became more seduced by evil.  Many leaders and sages initially were not alarmed, believing this was the Kovari Phoenix’s plan to keep the world, including the Kovari people, in balance.  Then the Kovari people became restless and started to disagree on all matters of life. The dynasties began to fracture, and the peace and harmony the Kovari Phoenix provided started to deteriorate.  This led to fighting, battles, and eventually a full scale war.  A war between all Kovari.  A war between dynasties as well as wars within dynasties.

The Divergence

The Kovari War raged on for over a decade, dynasties split and eventually fell, and most of what was built had now crumbled.  Then one day, something unthinkable happened.  In an explosion that rocked the entire kingdom, the Kovari phoenix split into a light phoenix, and a dark phoenix.  The once omnipresent phoenix that ruled the sky and kept peace and harmony in the world had now become two phoenixes. This became known as the Divergence.  This explosion was so powerful that it killed many of the Kovari people.  There were only a few villages on the edges of the world that were unaffected.  The fighting stopped.  The war was over.  Not only did everyone agree there was nothing left to fight over, there was hardly anyone left alive to fight.

Remy & Fira

As the Kovari people started to rebuild the world, the two phoenixes were also rebuilding the world.  Although the Kovari Phoenix had never had any effect on the world itself, the two new phoenixes did.  The light phoenix flew all over the world, helping the land and the water become rich again, helping the trees and the grass and the flowers grow again.  At the same time, the dark phoenix was spreading evil all over the world.  It was empowering the evil creatures that had survived the Divergence.  This went on for years while the Kovari tried to rebuild their dynasties, kingdoms, and the world.  As time passed, the light phoenix became known as the Remy Phoenix, and the dark phoenix became known as the Fira Phoenix.  As the Kovari were continued to rebuild the world, they were also fighting evil creatures all over the world, which became known as Firamin.

The Convergence

The rebuilding and defending against the Firamin went on for three years, until the most historical event in the history of the world happened, the Convergence. At the midnight hour of the new year, high above the city of Primivari in the heart of the Kovari Kingdom, the two phoenixes converged. This time there was no explosion, only an extremely bright flash of light that could be seen throughout the entire world. And when it was over, all that was left was a pile of ash on top of the ruins of Primivari Castle. Everyone gathered around the ash, expecting another phoenix, or maybe even two, to rise, just as it had always done before. But nothing. Just a pile of ash, alone in the darkness, lying in silence. No one knew what to do or say, or how to react. This was the end of the Kovari Phoenix.

The City of Varenatus

Shortly after The Convergence, all of the Kovari leaders assembled in the city of Primivari.  Some were initially curious to see, and touch, the ash.  After many meetings, the leaders agreed to rebuild the city of Primivari first, and then continue to rebuild the world.  The name of this rebuilt city would be Varenatus, for Kovari Reborn.  The person that was thought to have the most pure blood, and had never been cursed by the Fira Phoenix, was appointed to the throne.  This new king, King Thomas, immediately had the castle fully rebuilt, with a very important room.  An almost empty room to honor where the ash of the Convergence once was.  This room held only one thing, a pedestal.

The Blade of Duality

King Thomas’ next order was to forge a weapon that could stop the Fira Phoenix if it ever was to rise again.  He met with the other Kovari leaders, sages, artisans, and philosophers, and they decided a sword would be forged.  It was believed that if a sword was forged with the seven crests of the original seven dynasties, that it could stop the Fira Phoenix if it were to ever rise again.  The unanimous choice was to commission the great miners and artisans of Lunavari to forge the sword.  After seven years, the sword was complete.  It was not only a sword to stop the Fira Phoenix, it was also the most powerful sword ever forged.  The king reassembled the leaders, sages, artisans, and philosophers.  As they all gathered, they admired the finest sword ever forged, mounted high on the wall above King Thomas’ throne.  Named after the first dynasty of the Kovari Kingdom, it was the Blade of Duality.

A Restless King

It is now the year 197 and King Tyler sits restless on his throne in Varenatus Castle. His son Kenneth is hastily making preparations for a midnight journey. Kenneth is joined by three of the finest warriors in all of Kovari Kingdom. The king has received word that someone with a truly evil heart is making their way to Atlantis, an ancient colony just north of Varenatus. The king not only fears for the people of Atlantis, but also because their temple holds a very powerful artifact. One that if someone with evil intentions could possess, it would put the entire world in danger. As Kenneth is making his final preparations, his youngest sister enters the room. She is asking everyone what is happening, and she also is insisting that she can help. She is then pulled aside by one of the warriors, and told a very important tale…
